Submission Guidelines
Formatting:
All essays and stories must be between 500 and 2000 words. Please ensure they are final drafts and ready for publication.
Writers retain all rights to their original work. By submitting your work, you are permitting us to publish it on the StoryHood Substack page. If we edit or contribute to a piece we ask you to cite or link to StoryHood if it is shared on other platforms.
Provide your name, email address, and website (if applicable) so we can contact you regarding the publication of your work.
You may also provide any applicable photos to accompany your piece.
How to submit:
All submissions must be emailed to storyhoodcommunity@gmail.com.
IMPORTANT: Put “submission” in the subject line.
If your piece is accepted, you will be contacted and we will let you know when it is scheduled to go live.
If your piece needs to be heavily edited, it is probably not ready for submission.
If after one month you have not heard back from us regarding your submission you may feel free to submit it elsewhere.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
We exist to highlight high-quality thought, craft, and depth of insight among women writers. We will not accept any politically charged pieces or those that demean or dehumanize others.
