When Cathy submitted this poem, we knew instantly that it was the right thing for right now. While all writing is profitable to both the reader and the writer, there are some pieces that connect the two so beautifully that you just can’t help but share them.
This is why we love what we do here in the StoryHood Community. Providing the space for some pretty talented female authors to share their gifts is what inspires us as creatives ourselves, with the hope that it inspires those who get to read what can be found here.

About Cathy:
“I am Cathy J. Breit—a reader, writer, and homegrown philosopher in the big woods of Wisconsin. An enneagram 5 who seldom cries, but is finding the value of weeping through words.
I write weekly at walktheearthwatchthesky.substack.com, where you will find original essays, poetry attempts, and bookish conversations. My highest goal is to tell commonplace truth in beautiful ways. Soli Deo Gloria.”
(Thank you, Cathy, for sharing your gift with the StoryHood Community!)

I think the 8th stanza is my favorite, but I also appreciate the way this free verse tells such a clear and relatable story. And manna is such a cool word. I love how it's stuck around for so long and most people have no idea what it originally meant. Thanks for sharing!
Ohhhh the suspense!! Nice work Cathy :-)
